Welcome to the 2010 Parade of Homes. The Parade of Homes is the largest new home event in the state of Alabama and an event the general public anticipates each and every year. This year the Parade will focus on Green Building and the energy-efficient benefits of buying a new home. The homes will be open from April 16th until April 25th Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Homes will range from 1,000 – to over 5,000 square feet, ensuring that there is a home for everyone. Whether you are a first-time buyer, looking for luxury in a move-up, someone scaling down, or if you are looking for a professional remodeler to update your existing home, this event has something for you. The homes featured in this year’s Parade of Homes exhibit the professionalism, authenticity and unsurpassed standards of the GBAHB Builders. Your family will love coming “home” to the latest in comfort, convenience, technology, and energy efficiency. In addition, among the 100+ homes in this year’s Parade you will find homes that have earned the latest in Green Building certifications, as well as homes equipped for an aging family’s needs, and much, much more.

An exciting addition to the Parade of Homes is Green Home University conveniently located in the Viridian community in Vestavia Hills. At Green Home University you will have the opportunity to tour an Energy Key and Energy Star certified Green Home which includes many of the latest in Green Building techniques and products. While there you may attend courses to learn more about the Green Building process, the latest in green products for your home, how to “green-up” your existing home, and much more. In addition, you will not want to miss the Green Home Expo at Viridian where you can get a hands-on look at the latest energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly products and services.
